Mini Splits / Heat Pumps

Discover the ultimate solution for year-round comfort with a Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pump / Mini Split. Mini-split heat pumps are the most efficient way to maintain comfort in your home or business. They allow us to be environmentally friendly by reducing carbon emissions without sacrificing modern comfort. You can drastically cut your heating and cooling costs while you stay warm and cozy or nice and cool.

How Mini Splits/Heat Pumps Work?

Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) work by transferring heat from one location to another. In the summer a mini-split will work by removing heat from your home and moving it outside thus resulting in a cooler home. The reverse is true during the cold winter months. ASHP systems consist of 5 basic components that homeowners should be aware of: the outdoor unit (compressor), one or more indoor units (evaporators), refrigerant and communication lines that connect the indoor and outdoor unit, the electric supply to the outdoor unit, and a controller to control the indoor unit.

Why Choose a Mini Split over Central Air or other alternatives?

Efficient Heating & Cooling

Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pumps are designed for maximum efficiency and keep your home comfortable while minimizing energy consumption, with room-by-room temperature control. Modern Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) can draw upon ambient heat from the outdoor air even in negative temperatures. That means an ASHP can heat your home or business all winter with the exception of the most frigid winter days. Keep in mind that this temperature limit is the real air temperature NOT the wind-chill temperature. With this in mind, an ASHP could be your main home or business heat source. Some of the newest technologies will heat your home down to -13 degrees Fahrenheit (hyper-heating).

Customized Comfort

With personalized temperature settings and zoning options, you can tailor every room to your comfort level.

Advanced Filtration

Breathe easy with built-in air filtration systems that remove dust, allergens, and other impurities from the air, promoting a healthier indoor environment for your home.

Heating & Cooling in One System

Whether you are looking to replace or upgrade your fossil fueled furnace or air conditioner, ASHPs are an energy efficient way to go. With a singular unit you can provide cool air for your home in the summer or heat it in the winter. If air conditioning is what you’re looking for, ASHPs will provide efficient and renewable heating and cooling that will make your current heating and cooling systems outdated. These 2-in-1 units are the heating and cooling technology for a greener sustainable future.

Environmental

Heat pumps more environmentally friendly than other heating options for a few reasons:

First, the basic physical principle differs from traditional methods of heating. Your traditional heater, whether electric baseboard, propane, natural gas, or fuel oil works on the principle of using the respective form of energy to directly create the heat. While a heat pump runs on electricity, the main principle is to use already existing heat and simply transfer it to where it is most needed and/or wanted. Electricity is used primarily to run the heat pump’s fan and its internal controls. Heat pumps move heat, they do not generate it.

Second, heat pumps have the ability to operate purely on renewable energy. The best option for residential applications is for a heat pump to work in conjunction with a photovoltaic system (ie. SOLAR!). Heat pumps impact the environment less than other traditional heaters, but there could be a zero carbon footprint if the electricity generated comes from renewable sources.

Quiet Operation

Enjoy peace and quiet with whisper-quiet technology. Mitsubishi Heat Pumps operate so quietly, you’ll forget they’re even there.

Sleek & Convenient

Our units are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, blending seamlessly into any décor with their sleek and modern design. Enjoy the convenience of remote control technology via Kumo cloud™ or other smart home devices

Cost

Are you heating with fuel oil, propane, or electric resistance? If so, then you know how expensive each and every winter season can be. The direct savings from energy efficient heat is not the only affordable part of ASHP. In NYS, there are rebates and financing available for residential uses through NYSEG and NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority).

FAQ'S
